I am a small 5’1, 115 lb woman so when my ex left I found myself very limited since I don’t have roof racks or the physical strength to maneuver my big kayak. This gives me the freedom to kayak whenever I please and get back to my favorite pastime!
It took 4 months to come in. With Covid and the crazy world, this isn’t great but it’s to be expected. I work in manufacturing so I understand the difficulty with supply-chain issues. The first time folding is difficult but after folding all of the seams a couple of times it gets much easier. I didn’t time myself but I have no complaints with the time it takes (took longer to load/unload my old one safely from racks with help). It’s very wide so it’s stable but not the fastest. Great for a calm lake or river. Easy to maneuver since it’s so light. The seat I got only has one seat cushion and the back, I might add some more cushion at some point. I had to keep adjusting the strap for the back of the seat as it stretched throughout my first ride but there is plenty of adjustability in the strap.
So far I am very happy with this purchase. Thank you tucktec.
Glad you are enjoying your Tucktec! Thanks for the review!
Second trip today, third time I folded it, and it went super fast, and wasn't hard for an OG like me. Tracks great, did fine in chopper waters today. Very happy with my new 10' pink kayak.
The Tucktek was great value. Haven't had it on the water yet but appreciate getting a free paddle with the purchase. One less expense. The paddle is also very light which will make the paddling a lot easier on my arms.
Thank you for making a product so that I can still be out on the water. Since I can no longer lift a regular kayak, the tucktec allows me to put it in my trunk of my car and still go to the lake. It is so easy to fold up and get out on the water and it handles like a dream.
I am excited to have my own Tucktec. Using my friend’s last year was fun and now I am an owner. I used her 10’ and the reason I purchased the 8’ is the difference in weight. I know it wasn’t much, but it made a big difference to me. I have had “Bye You” out twice now and people in my rural area are getting introduced to a whole new way of thinking when it comes to kayaking. Getting ready to go out today too! Oh assembly on the 2023 is also a reason I waited. I could not do the cotter pins on the older models and had to have help. I am fully independent in my 2023.
On a group float trip I fell in love with the peaceful bliss of a kayak. I knew I needed on of my own but I have a tiny car that can't have a rack and isn't supposed to tow. I considered inflatables, but was drawn to the durability Tucktec offers. With a couple of floats under my belt I am happy to say I have found that peace I craved. I am so glad I got two so I can bring friends along too. So worth it. If you are on the fence, just take the plunge. You won't regret it.
I have some issue I watched the video 3 times and still had a hard time getting it set up. After I did I used it in my pool it was fine but has a lot of sharp plastic along the sides. I now have to watch the video again to fold it back up. I am going to try it on a near bye lake . It maybe returned to you.
I absolutely LOVE my new kayak. I love how easy it is to fold and go! It’s sleek and compact but still able to hold myself my kiddo and other items easily!
Tucktec kayaks are an awesome way to introduce kayaking to youth and new comers of the sport. They’re durable, lightweight, conveniently portable and maneuverable on the water. And the Tucktec customer service team is second to none with fast response times and quality communication with each of their customers!
