Kayak is awesome, got the HackIt kit and fishing package to go along with it and was definitely nice additions. Kayak glides thru the water effortlessly. Carried it a half mile with my fishing gear no problem. Fits in the trunk of my Hyundai Sonata. If you want lightweight and ultraportable. By and American Made Tucktec!
I’m 66, 5 foot female, on my 3rd time folding my kayak, I did it in 6 minutes. It’s wonderful being able to kayak again! Thanks Tucktec
I am not able to put my standard kayak on my car because it’s a convertible so I needed something that I could take for occasional day trip paddles. This works perfectly - it folds nicely and fits in the passenger seat of my Miata!! It feels sturdy (for being a foldable light kayak) and easy to paddle around in. I’m very happy with my kayak and glad I made this purchase.
I love that I can fold up my kayak, put it in the back of my SUV and transport it without help. It is light enough weight for me to carry it, but on the water it feels just as stable as a hard shell kayak. I’m very happy with it!
We don't need a whitewater kayaking paddle for our TuckTec outings and this paddle does it's job well. The 2 pieces fit togethrt snugly compared to some inexpensive paddles at a local store. The paddle length is good for the width of the TuckTec and sitting position inside of a kayak. Didn't bang hands on sides much once I got used to it.
I always loved kayaking but would only rarely get the chance when I would rent on a vacation. Living in a city, I didn’t have place to store one and didn’t want to bother dealing with a rack for the car. I finally found this kayak and decided to pull the trigger. And WOW I was just blown away with this thing. The design is just so clever. First time or two I opened it up and took it apart it definitely took a bit longer - maybe 10-20 minutes but following the video on the site was easy. Now that I know how to do it it’s actually extremely straight forward and take like 5 min. It’s really not a big deal at all. And I was surprised with how great it feels in the water. Granted, I’m no kayak aficionado, but it didn’t feel much different than any other time I Kayaked, and in calm water it felt incredibly stable. No concerns about maneuverability or stability at all. Now I probably would be hesitant to take it on anything too rough, but for my proposes it’s absolutely perfect. I’ve had it drag over logs and dams in shallow water and never had any issues with it holding up. I also bought the “Thingy” which is a little storage case with insulated lining. Works great. Keep my things (phone etc) cool and dry on hot sunny days. Overall, this thing really has opened up so many possibilities for me to just go out kayaking and exploring on a whim. I couldn’t be happier with it. I didn’t find the skeg necessary on the times I’ve taken it out which were not particularly windy, but it’s nice to have the option.
The only negative thing, or just thing to watch out for is that the edges of the kayak can definitely cut you when you’re folding it up. I end up cutting myself most times I set it up, but I could just be more carful and probably it wouldn’t happen. Would be nice it they filed the edges though to round out the corner. Small issue though that’s probably largely user error.
Long story short, if you’re someone who loves kayak but doesn’t get the chance to do it as often as you like due to the logistical challenges of owning a normal kayak, get this thing. You won’t regret it.
Everything I bought from Tucktec has been on time, great quality and really enhance the kayak I will definitely order from them in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy yet lightweight this kayak is. I bought the Tucktec kayak since I hate my inflatable kayak, and this is much less hassle and handles way better.
This kayak is light weight, easy and quick to fold and unfold (after a couple times to get the hang of it) and fits easily into my fiat 500 pop. So much easier to handle than my old inflatable. I feel safe on the water and can lift it out with one hand. Perfect!
Purchased two kayaks to replace our dual inflatable kayak. We tried out the foldable to compare against the inflatable, my wife preferred the dual nature of the inflatable so we decided to stay with that unit. Returned both kayaks and received full refund less shipping cost. Very easy to work with Tucktec and enjoyed trying out their product.
For the price this kayak is very fun to take out on small lakes or maybe even slow flow river. For my first time kayaking and being a "heavy" guy this kayak was very stable even against 10mph winds very happy with the purchase
I have never been in a kayak before but I was in the mood to try it out. And I didn't want a traditional kayak that needed a special rack and having the misery of putting it on top of my vehicle. So, I come across a youtube video on the Tucktec folding kayak and I liked what I saw so I ended up purchasing two of them at a great price and I am so happy with it that I highly recommend anyone that wants a kayak without the burden of purchasing a special rack and wondering where your going to store it for the winter if needed to purchase the Tucktec Folding Kayak it's strong durable and really cool. And the company is great if you have any problems with an order or a return. They have it together. I received my kayaks within two weeks I know there is a video out there that states it took him forever to get his but that's all changed. So, get yourself a Tucktec today!
I'm so excited that as an older woman I'm able to easily store, carry, and assemble & disassemble the kayak. I only wish I had known about these sooner!
At half the weight of a regular canoe, my junior model was easy to assemple and carry onto the beach. On the way home I even was able to fit it into the back of my CRV without disasembling it.
It was easy to learn how to fold them. The seat is adjustable which helped my back immensely.
We had questions about accessories and received answers the next day.
I like the skeg. My husband isn't sure he needs it as he finds it easy to steer without it.
I received my Tucktec in less than a week! It goes together really quickly and is so light it is a breeze to transport. I have taken it out fishing twice (I got the stabilizing floats) and it was a breeze. plenty of space to take fishing gear, cooler bag and the extras that help. It is so relaxing to use. reloading into the car is a snap also...I take a towel and wipe the top and bottom while folding it up so no moisture in the car. I would recommend to anyone. Oh, did I mention I was 73? So imagine a young person would find it even easier!
I now know why Tucktec’s return policy is so generous: once you use them for the first time, you would never think of returning them! My wife and I bought our 2 pro models and used them 3 days after receiving them. Setting them up was as easy as the video on the website suggested. And they perform very well. They are very sturdy and handle well. No, I don’t think we’d ever win any races in them, but for casual recreational use, they are convenient, easy to use, and glide through the water surprisingly efficiently. We even had to fight a strong current and headwind to get back to our launch site, and we had no problem.
We saw online that someone complained that it took months to receive their kayak from Tucktec, but ours came 3 business days after ordering them!
I could not use our previous kayak anymore, which was a blowup model, because there was zero back support. With Tucktec’s “cage” supporting the seat, there is plenty of back support.
These kayaks are solid and designed very well. I expect to get years of enjoyment out of them. Thanks, Tucktec!
