As easy to set up as they said. Light enough for this 66 year old grandma to load and unload in car and set up by myself. Love it.
Once the craft is assembled a time or two, it is much easier to accomplish. Assembling it in the hot sun makes it even en easier. Have yet to use it on the open water, but venturing out soon. Pretty impressed with its maneuverability, despite not having a keel.
Wife and I retired the hard shells. We love them … I’ve made some mods I’ll post when fully tested. Great training videos too!
Well, it’s a folding kayak! It’s more stable than expected. I was able to get it folded correctly the first time without watching the video as I had no cell service. Not bad. Will be MUCH quicker the second time. Rutter is effective. I would not recommend purchasing the folding paddle. It does work but you cannot push hard enough with it because it bends. Overall I think it’s terrific. Will not replace a normal kayak’s performance.
Finally a kayak that I don’t have to lift on top of my car.
Everything worked as advertised. Maiden voyage was 7/31/2022. Looking forward to next.
Easy to setup, once you master the folding steps. Performs great on the water, just bend the skeg a bit to tune for a straight glide. Teardown is easy, except if plastic is cold, then rollup can be difficult. Overall, this kayak is a great choice for it's portability and price.
We've been out several times with them and it's a blast and quite a workout! We did not like the paddles, however. I would definitely recommend the Tucktec to others though. 2 for $720 is a great price for these.
These kayaks are great! Easy and fun to accessorize and upgrade. They fit in the Jeep easily, no roof rack required!
I have only been out once but I am in love. Order it, you won’t be disappointed. I have already had a friend decide to order as well. Customer service is beyond amazing.
We got 2 kayaks. They are easy to put together and take a part. Took them out in the channel on a breezy day and had no problems.
Paddled on calm lake and water. I have kayaked for years but was looking for an alternative to lifting the yak onto the roof. So far impressed with its ability to handle submerged rocks, current, etc. My only concern is the seat, it is comfortable enough but I would prefer the back to be more erect.
Gorgeous dark green, stable as you please, easy to set up, easy to put away. My Tucktec allows me to get out on the water as often as I like, with room for my furry bestie (40-pound dog) in front of me. I have used it on lakes and on the Delaware River (Class I portion), and it performs beautifully. To help Luna feel comfortable and not slide around, I cut a thin pink yoga mat to line the bottom. It rolls up with the kayak. Just for fun, I'll be painting watermelon seeds on the mat in the near future. :-)
First time buying a kayak and I'm glad I found tucktec. Set up was easy, very steady on the water and very durable since I did the scoot till you get in the water down a boat ramp.
At 5'5 the seat isn't uncomfortable and it is sturdy enough where I can sit cross legged and not worry about flipping.
I lean when I paddle so that is a problem I have to correct so water stayed out for the most part. Only down side: I'm so tired at the end of the day I just want to throw the tucktec in a bag without folding it up. Hopefully that part gets easier for me.
Our Tucktecs were ordered and received just like they said. Had a couple questions which were answered very promptly. Watched the assembly video and found initial assembly was about 15 minutes. After being out 4 times in our kayaks it’s down to 5 minutes.
Our Tucktecs performed well and we couldn’t be
happier. We live in a condo where storage space is very limited, so our Tucktecs are perfect for us. No roof rack required, just toss your Tucktec in your car.
We love our Tucktec kayaks!!!
